Our neighborhood association has several members who have gone through the City’s VIP training program. This program has been inmplemented in several surrounding neighborhoods with positive results. The program is non-confrontational. Volunteers patrol the area, and use their cell phones to call 911 to report potential problems and also to alert neighbors of circumstances that might invite crime, like open garage doors, gates not latched, etc.
